CTOnews.com, December 14, Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Fatih Cargill announced that Turkey will carry out its first manned space mission on January 9, 2024.

CTOnews.com inquiry found that he was referring to Axiom Space's third commercial space mission to the International Space Station, Ax-3, when the four astronauts will take the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and the Dragon spacecraft forward to the International Space Station.

Axiom Space did not disclose the price of each astronaut, but considering the $55 million per astronaut in the Ax-1 mission in April 2022 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 394 million yuan), it is believed that the ticket price will not be very cheap.

According to reports, the Ax-3 mission will be led by former NASA astronaut Michael L ó pez- Alegr í a. A dual American and Spanish national, he directed Ax-1 missions in 2022 and is now the company's chief astronaut (according to NASA rules, all commercial space missions to the International Space Station require a retired NASA astronaut at the helm).

The Ax-3 crew also includes Italian Air Force Colonel Walter Villady (Walter Villadei), who participated in Virgin Galactic's first commercial space mission in June.

In addition to him, the Ax-3 crew included Marcus Wandt, an ESA astronaut from Sweden, and Alper Gezeravc Gezelach, the first Turkish citizen to go into space.

This will be the sixth mission of Lopez Alegria, the second mission of Viradi, and the first mission of Wande and Gaizelachi. They will stay at the International Space Station for 14 days, during which they will conduct 13 different scientific experiments.
