PUBG announced that Microsoft Win7, 8,8.1 systems will no longer be supported from January 1 next year.
CTOnews.com, December 15 (Xinhua)-- the official support account of "PUBG" announced this afternoon that "PUBG" will no longer support all PC platforms using Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 operating systems from January 1, 2024.
According to the official announcement page, as Microsoft stops supporting older versions of the Windows operating system, more and more "PUBG" game resources (including anti-cheating resources) are used to maintain the security of these old versions of the system. Therefore, the decision to stop support for the above systems is to optimize anti-cheating resources and focus on providing enhanced services on newer operating systems.
Officials advise users to upgrade to a new version of the operating system as soon as possible (CTOnews.com Note: Windows 10 or above).
Comprehensive CTOnews.com previously reported that Rockstar and Paradox have also announced that their games or starters no longer support older versions of Microsoft Windows 7 or Windows 8 systems.
Microsoft no longer provides security updates or technical support for Windows 8.1 since January 10, 2023, and support for Windows 7 was terminated on January 14, 2020.
In fact, most games have begun to abandon their old system support. For example, League of Legends no longer supports 32-bit Windows operating system on April 4.
