Marvel cancels cooperation after the actor of the Avengers villain Conqueror is accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend.

Just hours after Meggers was convicted of assault and harassment, foreign media Deadline first reported that Marvel would not continue to work with the actor. IGN later confirmed the news to a person familiar with the matter.

It is not clear whether Marvel will change the role of Kang or delete the role altogether. Michael Waldron, the lead screenwriter for the first season of Loki, will replace Jeff Loveness, the screenwriter of Ant Man and Hornet Girl: quantum Madness, as the screenplay for Avengers 5: the Dynasty of Kang, CTOnews.com reported earlier, citing multiple sources.

Avengers 5: the Dynasty of Kang is currently looking at its release on May 1, 2026, which means the release date is still a long way off and the script may change further.
