China Telecom Satellite Corporation launched an emergency plan to strengthen the resource guarantee of Tiantong beam in earthquake-covered areas, and urgently opened Tiantong intelligent dispatching platform to ensure accurate and real-time tracking of satellite phone usage and location in Gansu region.

As of 14:50 on December 19, China Telecom Qinghai had dispatched a total of 19 communications guarantee vehicles of various types, including 1 emergency communication guarantee vehicle, 12 emergency repair vehicles, 1 high-power 50-kilowatt power supply vehicle, 11 oil engines, 13 satellite phones and 2 drones, and 92 personnel.

23:59 on December 18, Beijing time, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck Jishishan County, Linxia Prefecture, Gansu Province, with a focal depth of 10 km, causing heavy casualties.

According to Xinhua News Agency, a total of 32 aftershocks were recorded as of 8: 00 on the 19th, with the largest aftershock measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale, causing damage to 4782 houses. As of 11:00 on the 19th, the earthquake had raised the death toll in Gansu to 105 and injured 186.
