CTOnews.com, December 21 (Xinhua)-- General Motors announced in April that starting from the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV, its brands will no longer support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, but will use a modified Ultifi system based on the Android Automotive platform.

CTOnews.com previously reported that Tim Babbitt, GM's infotainment product director, said CarPlay and Android Auto had stability problems, such as poor connectivity, poor rendering, slow response and broken connections.

When drivers encounter CarPlay and Android Auto problems, they will pick up their mobile phones and look away from the road, thus increasing the probability of traffic safety accidents.

However, according to the review report released by Edmunds and InsideEVs this week, the experience of the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV is not excellent.

The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV initially performed well, but there was a brief pause in Bluetooth audio for about 25 minutes on the outskirts of Gallipolis, and then the entire infotainment screen went blank. Heating, air conditioning and volume control are still in effect, but all icons are missing.

Edmunds's Nick Yekikian said the dashboard did not show any faults, but diagnostic tests showed 23 fault codes, and the car had been at the dealer for two weeks at the time of writing.
