Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens for the delivery of the old story and Jiayi clues! CTOnews.com, December 21 (Reuters)-Toyota recently announced that it will recall about 1.12 million vehicles worldwide, including 1 million vehicles affected in the United States, due to potential faults in the front passenger seat airbags.

The recall covers specific models from 2020 to 2022, including Avalon, Camry, Corolla, RAV4, Hanlanda and Senna hybrids, as well as some Lexus ES250, ES300H and RX350 models.

The reason for the recall is that the sensors in the front passenger seats of these vehicles may be short-circuited due to manufacturing problems, so that the airbag system cannot determine the correct weight of the occupants, and there is a risk that they will not be able to open in a collision.

CTOnews.com noted that this is not the first time Toyota has recalled vehicles because of airbag problems. Toyota recalled about 3500 RAV4 vehicles as early as 2022 because the eight-way electric adjustment of the front passenger seat caused the OCS sensor to fail to accurately identify the weight of the occupant.

In order to solve this safety problem, Toyota will require car owners to send the vehicle to the nearest dealer for inspection and replace the defective sensor free of charge. Toyota said it would notify car owners by mid-February 2024.

Toyota said it was inconvenient to answer whether anyone was injured as a result of the question.
