After SQL Server is installed, the server is renamed again, resulting in inconsistent names. Use the following methods to solve the problem:

This also applies to modifying server names.

1. Query the old server name of the current server:

SELECT @@servername AS Old server name

2. Query the latest server name of the current server:

SELECT serverproperty ('servername ') AS New server name

3. If the above two server names are inconsistent, then serverproperty ('servername ') shall prevail and the server name shall be changed to the latest one using the following statement:

EXEC sp_dropserver @server ='old server name 'EXEC sp_addserver @server ='new server name',@local ='LOCAL'

Finally restart SQL service to see if server names are consistent.
