The mysql version is updated quickly, and each version has a certain bug more or less, which will be scanned by security vendors and need to be rectified. With the inspiration and help of colleagues, we have done some tests:

(1) decompress the source code package and adjust the value in the VERSION file, as shown here

[root@lxd-vm1 mysql-5.6.25] # cat VERSION

MYSQL_VERSION_MAJOR=100

MYSQL_VERSION_MINOR=1

MYSQL_VERSION_PATCH=2

MYSQL_VERSION_EXTRA=

(2) after cmkae precompilation, make compilation and make install installation, the binary package is generated, and then the database is initialized and the database instance is started.

(3) check the database version 100.1.2

(4) log in to the database to verify

(5) leave the corresponding value of the VERSION file empty, the error will be reported in the process of pre-compilation, and the version number of the hidden mysql is not realized. I hope God can solve it.

(6) this is the testing stage and has not been verified on the Internet, so do not use it easily in production.
