The original MySQL version is 5.6. after compiling and installing the new version 5.7, it failed to start the database:

Error message file'/ usr/local/mysql/share/english/errmsg.sys' had only 886

According to the error prompt, it was found that the errmsg.sys file and the upgraded software version were inconsistent.

Resolve:

1) cp / usr/share/mysql/english/errmsg.sys

/ usr/share/mysql/english/errmsg.sys.backup

2) download mysql-5.7.13.tar.gz

3) tar-xzvf mysql-5.7.13.tar.gz

4) cp mysql-5.7.13/sql/share/english/errmsg.sys

/ usr/share/mysql/english/errmsg.sys
