Win7 Desktop Icon exception Resolution steps:

1. Show hidden files, folders and drives.

Open Explorer, click: organize, click: folder and search options in the drop-down menu

2. In the folder options window that opens, we click: view, find: hide files and folders in the Advanced Settings box, and click: show hidden files, folders and drives, and then click: apply-OK.

3. Delete IconCache file.

File path: C:Users/Administrators/AppData/Local (Administrators: user login name), open computer-C disk-Users (user)-Administrators

4. Next we click: AppData/Local, in the Local window, we find: iconcache, and right-click: iconcache, in the drop-down menu, click: delete
