A transaction has four characteristics, ACID

Atomicity (Atomicity)

Transactions are the smallest units and can no longer be divided.

Consistency (Consistency)

Transactions require that all DML statements (insert, update, delete) operate with a guarantee of simultaneous success or simultaneous failure.

Isolation (Isolation)

One transaction cannot affect the operation of other transactions.

Persistence (Durability)

After the transaction completes (successfully commits), the changes made by the transaction to the database are persisted in the database and are not rolled back.

Transactions, foreign key constraints (cascading updates, cascading deletions)
