Binlog is a binary log file, which is used to record data changes in mysql. Binlog logs can play an important role in data recovery. The master-slave replication of mysql is based on the binlog principle.

1. After logging in to mysql, use the following command to check whether binlog is enabled.

Show variables like 'log_%'

2. Edit the configuration file

Vi / etc/my.cnf

3. Add the following

Server_id=2log_bin = mysql-binbinlog_format = ROWexpire_logs_days = 30

4. Restart the mysql service

Systemctl restart mysqld

5. Use the command show variables like 'log_%'; again to check, indicating that binlog is enabled for ON.

6. The storage path of binlog log files is

/ var/lib/mysql

7. Files such as mysql-bin.000001 mysql-bin.000002 will be generated under this path.
