Convert physical slave to snapshot backup:

Close the secondary RAC instance of the physical standby repository (in the case of a RAC environment)

The standby library is kept in mount state.

Convert to snapshot repository: alter database convert to snapshot standby

Convert snapshot slave to physical backup:

Close the secondary RAC instance of the snapshot standby repository (in the case of a RAC environment)

Snapshot backup library remains in mount state

Convert to physical repository: alter database convert to pyhsical standby

Restart the database

Application log: alter database recover managed standby database using current logfile disconnect
