Sources say Apple's OLED iPad Pro will be upgraded again in 2027: 20% lower power consumption and an off-screen camera
CTOnews.com, Nov. 18, according to South Korean media ETNews, Apple plans to launch nine devices with OLED screens by 2027.
It is reported that Apple will introduce two iPad Pro,2026 models with OLED screens to the iPad mini and iPad Air product lines next year.
In terms of screen size, the OLED version of iPad Air will still retain 10.9 inches, while the OLED version of iPad mini will increase the screen size from 8.3 inches to 8.7 inches.
Apple plans to launch a 12.9-inch LCD iPad Air next year, but will launch an OLED version of iPad Air in 2027.
CTOnews.com summarizes the revelation information and makes the table as follows:

12.9 inch OLED iPad Pro
11 inch OLED iPad Pro

Apple's iPad product line will use OLED screens in the future, but there will be differences in materials. IPad Pro uses low-temperature polyoxide (LTPO) OLED panels with the highest 120Hz ProMotion refresh rates, while iPad mini and iPad Air will use single-layer low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) panels.
Apple plans to upgrade iPad Pro's OLED panel again in 2027, improving light efficiency by encapsulating color filters (CoE), which are said to reduce power consumption by about 20%. Using color filters will also enable Apple to implement off-screen camera technology on the iPad for the first time.
It is said that Apple will introduce the OLED on the 16-inch MacBook Pro by 2025, followed by a 14-inch model in 2026. 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models will also transition from LCD to OLED in 2026.
