CTOnews.com, November 23, according to the German media Handelsblatt, ASML, headquartered in the Netherlands, plans to invest 100 million euros a year from 2023 to invest and expand its plant in Berlin, Germany, to improve production and development capacity.

George Gomba, vice president of ASML, told the media that in the next few years, an average annual investment of 100 million euros (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 780 million yuan) will not only improve production and development capacity, but also actively attract local talent.

Gomba said the plant, which has hired 600 people since the beginning of 2022, currently employs more than 1700 people in Berlin and will further increase to 2300 in the coming years.

ASML Berlin factory is mainly responsible for the production and research and development of high-precision parts of glass, ceramics and other materials, which plays a very important role in ASML's supply chain.

With a market capitalization of nearly 250 billion euros, ASML is one of the most valuable technology companies in Europe and the only company in the world that sells extremely ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines. EUV has been indispensable to advanced processes below 7 nanometers.

According to the previous financial report, ASML's sales in the third quarter were 6.7 billion euros, up 16% from the same period last year, and profits were about 1.9 billion euros, up 11% from the same period last year.
