CTOnews.com, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) recently, some netizens found that when typing the name of the late Hawaiian singer Israel Kamakawiwo Hawaii ole on Google's search engine, the first few images of the search results were generated by artificial intelligence rather than real photos. These images are generated by Midjourney, a tool that generates images based on natural language descriptions.

Ethan Mollick, a professor at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, raised the issue on X on Sunday and shared a screenshot. "seriously, don't believe anything you see online," he wrote. "it's so easy to forge things that you can't tell the true from the false."

Noah Giansiracusa, a professor at Bentley University, pointed out on X that the photos generated by AI showed Kamakawiwo Qing ole playing the guitar, while the musician was famous for playing ukulele. Giansiracusa wrote: "Google needs to improve its level and remove these AI-generated things from the previous results."

CTOnews.com noted that this is not the first time Google's search engine has included photos generated by AI in the previous results. According to Futurism, search legendary artists Edward Hopper and Johnannes Vermeer, and photos generated by AI also appear in the results.

In May, Google announced that it would launch a tool to provide more information about image search results, making it easier for users to distinguish between real and fake images.
