The project is located in the hinterland of Kubuqi Desert in Hangjin Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, relying on the supporting construction of the 2 million kilowatt photovoltaic sand control project in Mengxi base. The project has an installed capacity of 1 MW and covers an area of 40 mu, with a total of 11200 perovskite photovoltaic modules installed.

According to introduction, the three Gorges Group will do a good job in monitoring, recording and summarizing and analyzing the operation data in the next step, comprehensively evaluate the equipment reliability and power generation characteristics of perovskite photovoltaic modules, and on this basis, continue to explore the application of perovskite modules in other typical climate environments.

The group's three Gorges Energy will focus on the application of perovskite solar cells in typical climatic environments such as "dry and hot in the north", "cold in the northwest" and "hot and humid in the south". Among them, the research on the application of perovskite solar cells in the "dry and hot north" environment is the first to start based on the grid-connected Kubuqi photovoltaic sand control project.
