CTOnews.com, December 4 (Xinhua)-- US electric car maker Fisker has announced that it will scale back production this month because its car production this year will be lower than previously expected in order to give priority to cash to meet working capital needs, according to reports from Reuters and the Wall Street Journal.

In fact, this is not the first time Fisker has lowered its production target. Last month, the company lowered its production target for this year to 13000-17000 vehicles, with an earlier target of producing more than 20, 000 vehicles by the end of the year. This time, Fisker lowered its production target to "just over 10000 vehicles".

According to Fisker's third-quarter results, the company lost $91 million (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 650 million yuan) and revenue of $71.8 million (currently about 513 million yuan), both lower than expected. The company said it plans to speed up sales and delivery despite the tough market for electric cars.

Comprehensive CTOnews.com previously reported that Fisker announced the opening of its first sales experience store in Shanghai in October and is expected to open in December 2023 or January 2024, located on Taicang Road in Huangpu District.

"China is an extremely important market for us," said Henryk Fisk, chairman and CEO of Fisker. Earlier, Fisker opened an office in China in 2022 and released more details about China's plans earlier this year, including the opening of a delivery center in 2023.
