CTOnews.com December 8, American Express (American Express) CEO Steve Squire (Steve Squeri) recently hinted in an interview that there is not much interest in partnering with Apple to run Apple Card.

According to the Wall Street Journal, after the "breakup" between Apple and Goldman Sachs, the potential partner will be American Express, and Apple and American Express have begun negotiations.

In response to the report, Squire suggested in an interview that "one of the biggest obstacles" to working with Apple is that Apple Card does not fit its "high-end customer positioning."

Squire said American Express has established a number of co-brand partnerships with companies such as Delta, Hilton and Marriott, and we have made a very clear choice because of our customer base.

Some of the interviews with Squire, translated by CTOnews.com, are as follows:

At present, we have established cooperative relations with more than 50 brands, and we hope to achieve the effect of "one brand, one brand and three" when considering co-brand cooperation.

Because this is the co-brand partnership you want, and it's also distribution. Does it add value to the two brands? Did you create premium economics? So when we evaluate partnerships, this is our perspective.
