CTOnews.com, December 14 (Xinhua)-- Elon Musk's biographer Walter Isaacson revealed in the latest CEO Diary (Diary of a CEO) podcast that Musk wants Jeff Bezos to "take less hot baths and travel on yachts" and devote more energy to his aerospace company Blue Origin.

Isaacson said that although Musk and Bezos are competitors, "they will not go out together", but "Musk respects Bezos."

Isaacson, who published a biography of Musk in September, revealed in his podcast what Musk thought of Bezos: "Musk said I wanted Bezos to succeed. I want him to lead us into space, because the more people involved, the better. I hope he will take less hot baths and drive luxury yachts, so that Blue Origin can be more successful."

Musk and Bezos have been competing in space for years. Isaacson said in the podcast that they had a dispute over a patent on the recovery method of rocket boosters, when Musk was "mad at Bezos."

Blue Origin patented the concept in 2010 and was approved in 2014. A few months later, SpaceX applied to the US Patent trial and Appeals Board, saying that "the 'rocket science' claimed in the patent is' old-fashioned'."

In 2015, at the request of Blue Origin itself, the United States Patent trial and Appeals Board cancelled the remaining 13 of the 15 claims in the patent. The judges basically supported SpaceX's opinion. Mr. Isaacson said Mr. Musk was outraged by Mr. Bezos's attempt to apply for the patent.
