CTOnews.com December 16 news, according to the United States Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO) published on the 14th of this month list, Samsung has obtained a new trademark called "Flex Magic," suggesting that it will be applied to the next generation of XR head-mounted devices.

Samsung wrote in its trademark description that the trademark applies to products such as 3D glasses, virtual reality headsets, virtual reality goggles and smart glasses. CTOnews.com quoted media reports that Samsung had applied for the same trademark with the European Patent Office in November.

Although there is no direct correlation between the trademark application and the actual application, it at least indicates that Samsung is actively promoting XR head-mounted products.

Samsung plans to release an XR head-mounted device code-named "Infinite" in the second half of next year and plans to go on sale by the end of next year, according to South Korean industry sources.

The initial production of this headset is 30,000 units, and it will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon's next-generation XR chip at that time.

Samsung initially planned to start mass production of its XR headset early this year, but after learning about the specifications of Apple Vision Pro, Samsung decided that it needed to make comprehensive adjustments to its XR headset to improve competitiveness, so it postponed it until next year.
