CTOnews.com, December 21 (Xinhua)-- three people familiar with the matter said Xiaopeng is planning to stop updating the G3 product line and may design a new product to replace the model, according to the Power Plant, a unit of Interface News.

The report quoted people familiar with the matter as saying that the G3i models currently on sale still accept bookings and purchases, but this product line will not launch modified models, and the G3i will no longer be displayed in major stores in the business district. Since then, the model will gradually suspend production, clear inventory, and be replaced by new products.

Another person familiar with the matter said that G3i's current product line looks old and is not in line with Xiaopeng's strategy of switching to the Fushao 2.0 architecture. In addition, the current Xiaopeng G6 has become the main sales force, the monthly delivery is stable at about 8000 vehicles, and the 2024 G9 has been recognized by consumers after simplifying the configuration. However, there is no further information on the replacement model of the G3 product line.

"with the increase in G6 sales, the need for G3i at lower prices is decreasing, raising inventory levels, pulling down gross margins, and contributing almost negligible to sales. It is normal for this product line to be abandoned."

The car was first launched in the United States CES in 2018, was put on the market in December of the same year, and the 10000 mass production car was offline in June 2019. In July 2021, Xiaopeng launched an upgraded version of the G3, G3i, with XPILOT intelligent driving assistance system, Xmart OS vehicle intelligent system and Bluetooth digital key support.

In October this year, Xiaopeng G3i launched a new OTA upgrade Xmart OS 2.4.0 to upgrade parking auxiliary images.
