CTOnews.com, December 22, according to a recent list released by the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO), Apple has obtained a Mac-related design patent, implying that Mac devices will support Face ID in the future.

The patent number is US 20230409075 A1 and the patent name is "an electronic device including an off-screen camera." the patent description states that in current electronic devices, the front camera will occupy part of the screen, reducing the potential display area of the screen, so Apple's idea is to place the camera at the bottom of the screen.

CTOnews.com translated the summary of the patent as follows:

In an embodiment, the device includes a display having a front surface and a rear surface. The display includes a plurality of pixel areas that emit light from the front surface to display the displayed image, and a plurality of apertures that transmit light from the front surface to the rear surface.

The rear surface can be equipped with a camera for photographing the subject. The device includes a processor coupled to the display and the camera for receiving and processing the captured image.

In addition, through the deployment of two-layer digital filter, the image distortion caused by the display can be reduced.
