You can use Get-ExchangeServer cmdlet to check the build number

Get-ExchangeServer | Select Name, AdminDisplayVersion

You can also check the build number from the ExSetup.exe file version information

Get-Command Exsetup.exe | ForEach {$_ .FileVersionInfo}

The following command provides details about the name, domain, version, fqdn, installed server role, site and administrator display name.

Get-ExchangeServer | fl name, domain, edition, fqdn, serverrole, site, admindisplayversion

To remotely check the ExSetup.exe file version information on all Exchange servers, use the following command.

Get-ExchangeServer | Sort-Object Name | ForEach {Invoke-Command-ComputerName $_ .Name-ScriptBlock {Get-Command ExSetup.exe | ForEach {$_ .FileVersionInfo} | Format-Table-Auto

In Exchange 2013 and Exchange 2016, you can also check the build number in the Exchange Central Administration (EAC).

In EAC, click the servers category on the left, and then click the servers pane.
