In practice, our routes and switches are always placed in the computer room. In order to facilitate our work, we need to configure routes and switches so that we can configure routers and switches in the office or at home.

This is a simple network topology diagram in which the computer connects and routes the switch across network segments.

Switch (config) # hostname WR1 rename this device for future configuration convenience

WR1 (config) # interface vlan1 enters the vlan1 configuration

WR1 (config-if) # no shotdown Activation Port

WR1 (config) # end returns privileged mode

WR1#write save

WR1#config terminal enters global mode

WR1 (config) # ip default-gateway 10.0.1.254 configure the gateway

WR1 (config) # line vty 04 configure remote ports 0-4 hosts

WR1 (config-line) # password 456 set password 456

WR1#write saves configuration files

Finally, verify the configuration.
