In InnoDB storage engine, xtrabackup can be performed completely in the form of hot backup, realizing fast and reliable full backup and partial backup, supporting incremental backup, supporting point-in-time restore, not disturbing transaction operations during backup, effectively saving disk space with compression function, automatically verifying whether data is available after backup is completed, and fast recovery speed. These advantages can only be perfectly implemented on the InnoDB engine, while on the MyISAM storage engine, it can only be used in the form of warm backup at most and does not support incremental backup.

1. Download xtrabackup installation package

wget https://www.percona.com/downloads/Percona-XtraBackup-LATEST/Percona-XtraBackup-8.0-6/binary/redhat/7/x86_64/percona-xtrabackup-80-8.0.6-1.el7.x86_64.rpm

2. Install dependency packages

wget ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/atrpms/el6-x86_64/atrpms/stable/libev-4.04-2.el6.x86_64.rpm

rpm -ivh libev-4.04-2.el6.x86_64.rpm

yum -y install perl-DBD-MySQL

yum -y install perl-Digest-MD5

yum -y install rsync

3. Install xtrabackup

rpm -ivh percona-xtrabackup-80-8.0.6-1.el7.x86_64.rpm
