According to CTOnews.com inquiry, Fukang pumped Storage Power Station is located in Fukang City, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang, equipped with four reversible generator sets of 300000 kilowatts, with a total installed capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts, with a designed annual generating capacity of 2.41 billion kilowatt hours and an annual pumping capacity of 3.213 billion kilowatt hours. Construction is officially started in 2017 and is scheduled to be fully put into operation and start generating electricity in 2024.

The Fukang pumped storage power station, with a total investment of 8.368 billion yuan, is the first large-scale pumped storage power station in Xinjiang with a total investment of 8.368 billion yuan, the official said. after the project is put into operation, it can provide a "super portable battery" with large capacity and high speed for the northwest power grid.

The hub includes the upper reservoir, the lower reservoir, the water conveyance system and the underground powerhouse, and is connected to the Xinjiang power grid through three 220 kV lines. After it is fully put into operation next year, it can generate 2.6 billion kilowatt-hours of new energy every year, reduce standard coal consumption by 165000 tons, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 496000 tons.
