CTOnews.com news on December 3, the National Railway Group, the people's Government of Shandong Province and the people's Government of Jiangsu Province have completed the approval of the preliminary design of the new Weifang-Suqian high-speed railway on December 1, formally approving the preliminary design of the project.
According to reports, the Weishu high-speed railway is a part of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway auxiliary channel in the medium-and long-term railway network planning, and it is a construction project of the national "14th five-year Plan" railway development plan.
The project is located in the south-central part of Shandong Province and the north of Jiangsu Province, running north-south from Weifang North Station of Jiqing High-speed Railway, south through Rizhao City, Linyi City, Jiangsu Province, and then to Yanghe North Station reserved by Xu-Su-Huai Salt Railway.
The line has an operating length of 400.785 km (CTOnews.com Note: 325.195 km in Shandong Province and 74.052 km in Jiangsu Province), with a design speed of 350km / h, a construction period of four and a half years and 12 stations on the whole line.
Officials said that as a part of the Beijing-Shanghai auxiliary channel in the medium-and long-term railway network planning, the Weishu high-speed railway is a convenient access between Jiaodong Peninsula and the Yangtze River Delta, and the backbone line of the intercity railway network of Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration. it is a high-speed rail backbone line that gives priority to the functions of the road network and takes into account the intercity functions.
The railway department pointed out that the construction of Wei-Su high-speed railway can speed up the formation of Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway auxiliary channel and Hefei-Qingdao high-speed railway channel, improve the regional high-speed railway network layout, and alleviate the shortage of Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway transport capacity. it is of positive significance to improve the traffic infrastructure conditions along the line and promote the integrated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration and Yangtze River Delta region.
