Canalys: Xiaomi in the global wearable wristband market grew significantly in the third quarter, following Apple with a share of 12%.

CTOnews.com, December 4, Canalys recently released a report entitled "ranking of Global key Market vendors of wearable wristbands in the third quarter of 2023", which shows that global shipments of smart wearable wristbands reached 51 million units in the third quarter.

Apple took the top spot with a 17 per cent share in the global market, but shipments fell 12 per cent year-on-year due to weak demand in mature markets and delays in new product launches compared with last year.

Xiaomi followed, with shipments of Xiaomi bracelet 8 in overseas markets rising 39 per cent year-on-year and market share to 12 per cent in the third quarter.

In addition, Canalys claims that the recovery in Huawei's mobile phone business has further strengthened its ecosystem, driving its shipments of wearable wristbands up 45 per cent year-on-year to third place, while Samsung returned to fourth place with a new Galaxy Watch 6 product iteration and its market share rebounded to 8 per cent.

CTOnews.com also learned from a report released by Canalys that the number of users of Xiaomi's wearable ecological chain has increased significantly overseas in recent years, and now it has gained the top spot in the market in Africa and Latin America, while it ranks second only to Huawei in China, fifth in Germany and first in Mexico.
