Microsoft Win11/10 device automatically installs Hewlett-Packard Printer Application HP Smart Bug has been repaired

CTOnews.com news on December 18, some time ago, there was feedback from users that non-HP devices running Win10 and Win11 systems would automatically install HP Smart applications through Microsoft Store.

Microsoft confirmed the issue on December 5, saying that the problem was not caused by an update to the HP printer, and that "printer names and icons may change automatically".

Today, Microsoft announced that the Bug that automatically installs HP Smart applications on Windows devices has been fixed, but users need to go to Microsoft's official download center to manually download the repair tool (English only).

Some Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices install HP Smart applications automatically.

Regardless of the printer manufacturer, the printer is renamed the HP printer. Most are named HP LaserJet M101-M106, and the printer icon may change.

Double-click the printer to display the error message "there are no tasks available on this page".
