Shulou(Shulou.com)12/24 Report--
Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen working track people for clue delivery! CTOnews.com December 22, Reuters reported that Honda Motor's U.S. subsidiary is recalling about 4.5 million vehicles worldwide due to the risk of fuel pump failure.
The recall includes 2.54 million vehicles in the United States, where Honda recalled 628000 vehicles in 2021 and 136000 in 2020 for the same issue.
Honda said in a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that Honda dealers will replace fuel pump modules and plan to notify owners of the recall in early February 2024.
Honda said it has not received any injury reports since 2018, but there have been 4042 warranty claims related to the issue.
CTOnews.com notes that the recall includes the 2018-2020 Honda Accord, Civic, CR-V, HR-V, Insight, Ridgeline, Odyssey, Passport and various Acura models, including ILX, MDX, RDX, RLX, TLX and NSX.
Honda says replacement parts are denser and have greater clearance.
Honda recalled about 106030 CR-V hybrids earlier because of the risk of fire or injury in a crash caused by overheating or shorting battery cables.
