What if Navicat cannot connect to the SqlServer database?

I. cause

Originally installed SqlServer 2008 R2, and then did not need to uninstall (no cleaning, single uninstall), and has been using SqlServer to remotely connect to the server through Navicat.

After re-installation, you can connect through the graphical management interface (SqlServer management studio) included with SqlServer, but the Navicat connection reports an error.

The error reported is as follows:

[08001] [Microsoft] [SQL Server Native Client 11.0] Registry information is corrupt or missing. Make sure the provider is installed andregistered correctly. (27) [08001] [Microsoft] [SQL Server Native Client 11.0] Client unable to establish connection (27) [08001] [Microsoft] [SQL Server Native Client 11.0] A network-related or instance-specific error has occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server.Server is not found or not accessible. The original meaning means "the registry information is corrupted and the client cannot establish a connection", but Navicat has just been reinstalled, and the connection MySQL is normal, so rule out the Navicat problem.

II. Solution

So I started to wonder if there was something wrong with the SqlServer installation or didn't clean it up, so I started cleaning up SqlServer.

(1) first, run the uninstall program, uninstall it step by step, and uninstall all SqlServer-related uninstallments on the control panel.

(2) after that, I checked the registry clean-up entries of SqlServer and found that there were a lot of them.

1. Completely delete SQLServer: hkey_local_machine/software/Microsoft/MSSQLServerhkey_local_machine/software/Microsoft/Microsoft SQLServerhkey_ current_user/software/Microsoft/Microsoft SQLServerhkey_ current_user/software/Microsoft/MSSQLServerhkey_local_machine/system/currentcontrolset/control/sessionmanager/pendingfileren ameoperations 2. Delete the relevant information in the registry: find the PendingFileRenameOperations entry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/MSSQLServerHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/CurrentControlSet/Services/MSDTCHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Session Manager HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/setup delete ExceptionComponents 3, run the registry, delete the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Microsoft SQLServerHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/ SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Microsoft SQLServerHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/ SOFTWARE/Microsoft/MSSQLServer

There are some items are not available, just ignore it, as long as delete some of the registry, pay attention to do not delete wrong!
