Profile Extension Folder:

vim /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg

#cfg_dir=/usr/local/nagios/etc/servers

#cfg_dir=/usr/local/nagios/etc/printers

#cfg_dir=/usr/local/nagios/etc/switches

#cfg_dir=/usr/local/nagios/etc/routers

cfg_dir=/usr/local/nagios/etc/hosts

cfg_dir=/usr/local/nagios/etc/services

Configure hosts, add new hosts:

/usr/local/nagios/etc/hosts

Example: cat oa.cfg

define host{

a.cfg

use linux-server

host_name OA

alias OA

address 192.168.1.250

}

Configure Notification Connection:

/usr/local/nagios/etc/objects/contacts.cfg

Define host groups and join hosts to specific groups.

/usr/local/nagios/etc/objects/groups.cfg

Define templates, template parameters,

/usr/local/nagios/etc/objects/templates.cfg

Includes: hosts, groups, contacts, contacts.

Define the time period:

timeperiods.cfg

7*24 hours, and 8-hour workdays, policy settings.

Define commands, command lines, make calls.

commands.cfg

Define monitoring services that will need to monitor the hosts.

/usr/local/nagios/etc/services

First check the configuration file: nagios directory/bin/nagios -v nagios directory/etc/nagios.cfgnagios directory/bin/nagios -v nagios directory/etc/modified configuration file and then look at the error line
