/proc/kcore is like an "alias" for the memory in your computer. Its

size is the same as the amount of RAM you have, and if you read it as

a file, the kernel does memory reads.

If the kernel does not recognize all memory, i.e. the size displayed after "ll /proc/kcore"(see the real size of kcore: du -h /proc/kcore) does not equal the actual physical memory size, you can use the cat /proc/meminfo command to verify. If the amount displayed differs from the physical memory of the system, add to the/boot/grub/grub.conf file:

mem=xxM

kcore and memory used are equal.

The files in/proc are virtual, not real on the hard disk, and when it is shut down, everything in/proc disappears.
