   Apache Flink is an open source platform for distributed streaming and batch data processing. The core of Flink is the streaming data streaming engine, which provides data distribution, communication and fault tolerance for distributed computing on data streams. Flink builds batches on top of the streaming engine, covering native iteration support, managed memory, and program optimization.

Step 1 concept: start with the basic concepts of Flink's data flow programming model and distributed runtime environment. This will help you understand the rest of the document, including settings and programming guides. We recommend that you read these sections first.
