CTOnews.com, December 11, with the recent launch of Intel's 14th generation Core i9-14900K, foreign media Neowin has conducted a comprehensive performance test of the platform with this processor, including comparing the performance of Microsoft's latest operating system, Windows 11 23H2, with its predecessor 22H2.

Test results: in the 3DMark Time Spy test, 23H2's CPU and total score are higher than 22H2, 4.4% and 2%, respectively.

In Fire Strike Extreme testing, 23H2's advantage has shrunk, but it still remains in the lead.

In the 3DMark CPU Profile test, 23H2 wins in all tests except single thread, but the advantage is small and is basically within the error range.

In the PCMark 10 test, 22H2 took the lead in 6 tests, while 23H2 took the lead in 5 tests. Among them, 22H2 takes the lead in the productivity benchmark test. In addition, 23H2 won partially in the digital content creation test, while 22H2 won in photo editing.

In Cinebench 2024 and 7-Zip testing, the advantage of 23H2 is very small and is basically within the error range.

Summary: overall, Windows 11 23H2 won 17 out of 24 tests, while 22H2 won only 7. Therefore, from a performance perspective, 23H2 is a version worth upgrading.

It is worth noting that 22H2 has a large lead in the PCMark 10 productivity test, which Neowin believes is an isolated case. Apart from productivity testing, no significant performance degradation was found after upgrading from 22H2 to 23H2, so recent reports of 23H2 performance degradation are probably due to Defender problems.
