CTOnews.com, December 18 (Xinhua)-- Google recently released a December update to its Play service, which contains a new feature-remotely uninstalling apps. Although the feature has not yet been officially launched, a technology enthusiast has successfully experienced it in advance through code mining.

Assemble Debug details how to remotely uninstall applications through the Play Store in his blog. He successfully activated this feature on version 38.8 of the Play Store. Just as applications can now be installed remotely, users will soon be able to uninstall applications remotely on connected devices.

However, CTOnews.com notes that the uninstall process seems a little more complicated than the installation. The following are the steps expected after the feature is officially launched:

Open the Play store, click on the personal avatar in the upper right corner, and select "manage applications and Devices".

Slide to the Administration section.

Click the current device name and a list of all connected devices will appear.

Select the device on which you want to uninstall the application.

Select the application you want to uninstall from the list of installed applications on the device.

Click the delete icon in the upper right corner to uninstall the selected application.

Assemble Debug also mentioned that users can sort by application name or size, making it easy to find and delete applications that take up more storage space. At present, there is a small problem with this feature, which is that all installed applications are not listed. However, Google should fix the problem when it is officially released.

According to Google's update log, the app uninstall feature will apply to a variety of devices, including cars, computers, mobile phones, televisions and Wear OS. This means that users can easily manage all applications connected to devices as long as they operate on the phone.
