CTOnews.com December 22 news, Microsoft recently issued a statement that abandoning the use of Windows Mixed Reality will not affect the current cooperation with the United States Army, and will continue to develop HoloLens mixed reality.

The Microsoft statement translated by CTOnews.com reads as follows:

Through software and hardware solutions, Microsoft continues to advance the development of mixed reality and meta-universe to integrate physics and digital for our customers and partners in an open, accessible and secure manner.

At the Ignite conference, we announced Copilot in Dynamics 365Guides, bringing mixed reality and generative AI experiences to HoloLens users.

We will continue to work with the U.S. Army to develop the IVAS into a transformative device that will significantly improve the safety, effectiveness, and capabilities of soldiers.

Positive feedback from early testing of the updated IVAS demonstrates our partnership with the government, our commitment to the program, and our ability to iterate quickly to achieve results.

IVAS is a good example of technology sharing between commercial products and government programs that suit the purpose.

According to the statement, Microsoft appears to continue to work with the U.S. Army to develop HoloLens-based IVAS devices, but the company doesn't seem to offer any mixed reality software to consumers.
