4. Decompression

tar -zxvf git-2.16.2.tar.gz

5. Enter directory configuration

cd git-2.16.2 make configure./ configure --prefix=/usr/local/git

6. Installation

make && make install

7. Configure global paths

vi /etc/profile

Add at the end

export PATH="/usr/local/git/bin:$PATH"

Refresh environment variables

source /etc/profile

8. Check the git version

git --version
