Microsoft open source Windows Terminal Canary AI chat robot function, users can import their own model
CTOnews.com, Nov. 22 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft announced at the previous Build 2023 developer conference that it would add AI chatbot to the Windows Terminal app, which can "recommend commands to users, explain errors, and help users take follow-up actions."
A few days ago, Microsoft announced that it will open up Windows Terminal's AI chat capability and introduce the "Terminal Chat" feature. Microsoft claims that this feature is "open source" and hopes to allow the open source community to help define the AI capabilities in this application, while inviting developers to try and participate in the building process.

▲ source Microsoft has learned that the Terminal Chat function is currently only available in Windows Terminal Canary and will not be included in the construction of Windows Terminal Preview or Windows Terminal stable Edition.
However, Windows Terminal Canary does not have a built-in AI model, and users must manually add AI service nodes and keys to the application settings.
In addition, CTOnews.com found that Terminal Chat only supports Microsoft's own Azure OpenAI services, so users still need to create and deploy Azure OpenAI resources through Microsoft services if they need to use related services.
