Tesla Cybertruck provides "wading mode", but its specific ability is still in doubt.

CTOnews.com, December 7 (Xinhua)-- Tesla Cybertruck pickup has a function called wading Mode (Wade Mode), which is designed to help vehicles drive in the water and avoid damage.

CTOnews.com notes that Tesla CEO Elon Musk has insisted for the past four years that the Cybertruck will be able to drive in the water, and last year he even said he hoped the Cybertruck could cross small waters.

Although we have not yet seen whether the Cybertruck has true amphibious capabilities, Tesla has added a "wading mode" to the car to help it cope with the large amount of water that may occur during the storm.

Cybertruck's "wading mode" is listed as one of the vehicle's off-road configurations, and its function is described as: "increase the body height and pressurize the battery while wading."

Musk said in October 2022 that for the Cybertruck to become an effective means of water transportation, "you need to install an electric propeller on the trailer hook to drive faster". Tesla has not mentioned the propeller and has not shown it on the recently released Cybertruck accessories page.

Given that Tesla used several videos to demonstrate the acceleration and traction capabilities of the Cybertruck in his initial display, Tesla would certainly show this in the video if the car could cross the water. Perhaps this function is more aimed at stagnant water on the road, designed to protect vehicles and their battery packs.
